A Note from Our Executive Director

August is National Wellness Month, making it the perfect time to highlight a key area of focus at Bella Vida: creating an environment where wellness is woven into everyday life. We believe that wellness encompasses living with purpose, staying active, continuing to learn, and having the support to enjoy each day to its fullest.

From the beginning, Bella Vida has been intentionally designed to support each resident’s wellness journey. A dedicated Wellness Coordinator will lead a dynamic calendar of exercise classes, educational seminars, and fitness programming tailored to a variety of interests and ability levels.

Whether you’re looking to establish a new exercise routine, learn healthy habits, or simply connect with neighbors through shared activities, there will always be opportunities to invest in your well-being.

Our state-of-the-art fitness center will offer a wide range of equipment to accommodate everything from strength training and cardiovascular exercise to flexibility and balance work. Residents will enjoy year-round access to our indoor pool, providing opportunities for independent swimming as well as instructor-led aquatic fitness classes. Dedicated studio space will host yoga, stretching, and group exercise programs designed to help residents remain active and independent.

Additionally, Bella Vida will offer the convenience of on-site outpatient rehabilitation services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy. These therapists will also be available to provide personal training–helping residents work toward individual wellness goals in a supportive and encouraging environment.

At Bella Vida, the thoughtfully designed spaces, programs, and team reflect our dedication to helping residents live healthy, active, and fulfilling lives.

One of the most common things I see during home visits is a bookshelf, cabinet, or closet filled with treasured photo albums. As we flip through pages together, I hear stories about weddings, vacations, children, grandchildren, and countless special moments. These albums represent a lifetime of memories, so deciding what to do with them during the downsizing process can feel overwhelming.

Construction Updates

Construction continues to progress across the Bella Vida campus. Finish-out work is underway in the Villas, bringing these residences closer to move-in ready. The pool area is taking shape. The Independent Living building is getting its roof. Roadwork and other site improvements are also progressing, setting the stage for a welcoming, easily navigable community when Bella Vida opens.

Highlights From Our Recent VIP Events

Villa Neighborhood Social

The Villa Social brought together future residents for an afternoon of easy conversation and connection. New VIPs were welcomed into the mix, and everyone joined in a fun name tag conversation starter by sharing the song they knew all the lyrics to. It was a fun afternoon for our future neighbors.

Play Rummikub at Bella Vida

On July 20, our VIPs gathered for an afternoon of Rummikub, friendly competition, and plenty of potluck favorites. The tables were full, the food was plentiful, and the energy stayed light and spirited as seasoned players and newcomers alike joined in the fun.

Bella Vida School Supply Drive

Our Bella Vida VIPs showed their generosity in a big way during our recent school supply drive. Donations included everything from #2 pencils and composition notebooks to crayons, disinfecting wipes, glue sticks, hand sanitizer, and more. Nathan and Sally delivered the donations to a local drop-off location for the United Way of Bexar County, which will distribute the supplies to Northeast Independent School District teachers through the Write Start Project. Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped Bella Vida support local teachers and students as they head back to school!

Drive-Through Shredding, E-Recycling, and Donation Event

The drive-through shredding and donation event made it easy for VIPs to take part while staying comfortable in their air-conditioned cars. VIPs came by to drop off paper for shredding, electronics for recycling, and donations in support of the Assistance League of San Antonio. The event was made even better by a strong volunteer team, including one of Bella Vida’s own VIPs.

Our expert panel features top local real estate professionals, including Sandi Peerman (JB Goodwin) and Jennifer Wilson (Redefining Home). This is a fantastic opportunity to have your questions answered by the pros and gain the confidence you need for your upcoming move! Those who have reserved independent living apartment homes will have their own panel in the near future.

VIPs who have reserved an apartment home in Phase 2 on any floor (the blue side of the diagram above) are invited to a fun Happy Hour. Join other future residents for some mingling, drinks and updates on your soon-to-be homes!
